The Message That Built A Prosperous Ummah

Rasulullah SAW is a man who has done a lot for mankind. His greatest achievement was bring mankind out from darkness and towards the light. Such truth has guaranteed mankind’s life in this world and in the hereafter.

He was sent to bring good tidings to all mukmin and to bring a reminder to all musyrik. Allah SWT declared in Surah At-Taubah, verse 128 :"There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.”

Great indeed was the sacrifice and the love of Rasulullah SAW upon his followers. Therefore, what should we do to reciprocate?

First: Safeguard dan preserve the rights between Muslims. Islam guarantees the sanctity and purity of the blood and wealth of the Muslim. It is forbidden for a Muslim to invade the rights of a fellow Muslim. Muslims are brothers.

Second: Preserve a woman’s honour, respect, and dignity in Islam. Women have dignity, social standing and a guarantee of rights. Rasulullah SAW ordered for an end to all kinds of abuse and exploitation of women, and instead strengthened the guarantee for basic rights and dignity for women.

Third: Hold firm to the guidance of the Al-Quran and as-Sunnah. The solution to all problems of the Ummah can be obtained from the Al-Quran dan as-Sunnah. Rasulullah SAW has guaranteed that whosoever holds firm to both of them shall not be led astray.

Rasulullah SAW stated in his farewell sermon, as narrated by Imam Muslim RHM from a report by Jabir bin Abdillah RA:“Indeed, I leave with you and you shall not be led astray if you hold firmly to them, namely the Book of Allah (al-Quran).”

Muhammad bin Sirin, a scholarly figure from among tabiin scholars reminded us: "Indeed this knowledge is regarding religion, therefore be careful from whom you take your religion from ".

Fourth: Allegiance to leaders so long as they undertake the laws of Allah SWT and the sunnah of Rasulullah SAW. Allegiance to leaders is the strength and might of a nation. Islam is a religion that encourages tranquillity, peace and harmony. Islam is a religion of blessings for all mankind without regard to race or religion.

Rasulullah SAW stated in a hadith narrated by Imam al-Tarmizi, based on a report by Umm al-Husayn al-Akhmasiyyah: “O, mankind, fear Allah, if all you are led by a slave from Habsyah with a deformed nose, then listen and obey for as long as he continues to implement the teachings of Kitabullah (al-Quran).”

Muslims must have the realisation, mindfulness and perform all that has been advised by Rasulullah SAW. The Rabiulawal and Maulidurrasul celebrations must enable us to increase our resolve to perform the teachings of Islam comprehensively.

Do not make Maulidurrasul a mere celebration, carnival or march, but instead let us all shape our Ummah into making Islam as a way of life. Let us resolve for Islam to be respected not only in our nation, but also all over the world.

To end the sermon today, the mimbar would like to conclude with the following takeaways:

First: A person who truthfully believes in Allah SWT dan the Prophet SAW shall always be mindful of the character of Rasulullah SAW in all aspects of life.

Second: Hold firm to the al-Quran and as-Sunnah, obey leaders, preserve the rights of Muslims and safeguard the harmony of the society and nation.

Third: Elevate Islam’s standing by living a life that is based on its comprehensive teachings.

Allah SWT declared in surah An-Nahl, verse 89 :“And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you, [O Muhammad], as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.”
