Khutbah Jumaat : “Mendaulatkan Syariat ”

Petikan Khutbah Jumaat 09 Disember 2016 JAIS

“Mendaulatkan Syariat ”

Dalam sejarah kesultanan negeri Selangor, Almarhum Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah Ibni Almarhum Raja Muda Musa, Sultan Selangor ke5, adalah sultan yang alim lagi tinggi hemahnya, telah menulis dua buah kitab yang dijadikan sebagai buku teks di sekolah-sekolah agama ketika itu yang bertajuk;

1- Pohon Agama ( ىلُ صُ ُ ؤ ن ْ ً ِ ّ الد ( bagi Bahagian Rukun Iman
2- Melatih Kanak-Kanak Laki-Laki Dan Perempuan Agama Islam 1.

Almarhum tuanku juga pernah menulis karangan berbentuk puisi mengenai akidah, bertajuk „Nasihat Guru Pada Murid‟. Antaranya seperti berikut;

Tuntutlah ilmu akhirat dunia, hidup mati mu dapat bahagia, Ke mana mu pergi jadi mulia, tidaklah hidup sia-sia. Pergi sekolah janganlah segan, Ilmu agama jangan dilupakan, Sama dituntut sama diamalkan, dua-duanya sama muliakan.

Sebagai kesimpulan khutbah pada hari ini, beberapa pengajaran boleh diambil;

(an-Nisa’-59)

Friday Sermon Text The Final Reminder Of Rasulullah SAW

Friday Sermon Text 9 December 2016AD / 9 Rabiulawal 1438H JAWI

The Final Reminder Of Rasulullah SAW

The arrival of the Islamic calendar month of Rabiulawal reminds us of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW. Those who miss and yearn for him would certainly be very happy waiting for the arrival of this precious month, the month our beloved Rasulullah SAW was born. Blessed are those who adore him! Indeed, Rasulullah SAW had even proclaimed those who love him as his "Brothers" in religion

jawi_logo.jpgAn important event which occurred during the eleventh year of the Hijri calendar is the journey of Rasulullah SAW along with his companions, who departed from Madinah for Makkah, to perform the Hajj. This Hajj was the first and last pilgrimage of Rasulullah SAW.

The Prophet SAW hinted that this would be his Farewell Hajj. During it, Rasulullah SAW delivered his final reminder and guidance to all Muslims through the sermon known as the Farewell Sermon. It has become proof of the victory of Islam and its position above all other religions.

It is also during this time, the word of Allah SWT, through verse 3 of Surah al-Maidah, was revealed, which explains the perfection of Islam: Which means: “This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as your religion.”

As a sign of our devotion and love for Rasulullah SAW, let us reflect upon some of the essence of the Farewell Sermon, which was emphasized by the Prophet SAW:

First: The Enshrined Rights

Among Muslims Islam guarantees the dignity and sanctity of Muslim blood and property. It is forbidden, and in fact a sin, to trespass over the rights of other Muslims. Every Muslim is considered a brother to each other, solely because of their faith and obedience to Allah SWT, the Prophet, the Al-Quran and the one and only Kiblat. The faithful should have a high feeling of love, compassion and sympathy. They are like a body - when one part is sick, the other parts would also feel the pain, which induces fever and sleeplessness. Muslims are encouraged to continuously and strongly assist, and reinforce the bond between, fellow Muslims. This understanding would produce a strong spirit of togetherness and closeness among the Ummah. This should be well appreciated and realized, as it will display the superiority of Islam and Muslims in the eyes of other religions and their followers.

As narrated by Imam Muslim and recorded by Jabir RA, this was reported to have been said by Rasulullah SAW during the Farewell Sermon:Which means: "Your blood and your properties are sacred to you (i.e, cannot be violated by anyone else) such as on this day and this holy month, in this country."

Second: The Position, Honour and Dignity of Women in Islam.

Rasulullah SAW continued his reminder in the Farewell Sermon, by saying:Which means: “Fear Allah concerning women! Verily you have taken them on the guarantee of Allah, and being intimate with them has been made lawful unto you by words of Allah. Their Obligations (the wives) towards you (the husband) is they cannot permit entry of people you do not like into your house. If they do so then beat them gently (as not to harm them). While your duty (the husbands) over them (the wives) is to provide sustenance and good clothes to them. "

The essence of the reminder and guidance of Rasulullah SAW is apparent regarding the honour, position and guaranteed rights of women. He eliminates all forms of abuse, but strengthens and guarantees fundamental rights and dignity of women. In short, men are asked to display exemplary behaviour towards women. Indeed, the family will remain harmonious when rights as husbands, wives and children are implemented and ensured. Today, many social problems arise due to the rights as enshrined by Islam being unknown, let alone practiced. Husbands, wives and children do not know their responsibilities that they need to discharge. Men and women do not know their rights and limitations that they need to be wary of. Therefore, disorder, corruption and transgressions occur in the community.

Third: Al-Quran and Sunnah are the solution to many problems

The solution to many problems faced by the community can be found in the Al-Quran and the Sunnah. Those who strongly adhere to both the Al-Quran and Sunnah are guaranteed by Rasulullah SAW from straying away from the correct path. As Rasulullah SAW said in the Farewell Sermon:Which means: "I leave to you and you will not be lost if you adhere strongly to the Book of Allah (the Al-Quran)."

However, it should be noted that the understanding of the Al-Quran and the Sunnah should be taken from respected and revered Islamic scholars, due to the fact that there are certain groups who, even though they refer to the Al-Quran and Sunnah, have flawed interpretation and understanding. Therefore, let us not be easily swayed by the slogan 'Return to the Al-Quran and Sunnah', when the interpretation and understanding put forth may actually be going against the understanding and interpretation of a majority of scholars. Muhammad bin Sirin, a respected and revered scholar, once advised: "Indeed, knowledge is a religion, then look from whom you take your religion."

Fourth: Loyalty to the government as long as they observe the law of Allah SWT and the Sunnah of Rasulullah SAW

Being loyal to the leader is the strength and integrity of a nation. Islam is a religion that promotes welfare, peace and harmony. Islam is a religion of mercy for all mankind, regardless of religion and race. Indeed, the thinking and ideology that encourages rioting and rebellion is not from Islam and must be shunned.

Rasulullah SAW once said, as recorded by Imam al-Tirmizi and narrated by Umm al-Husayn al-Akhmasiyyah:Which Means: "O, mankind! Fear Allah, if you are led by a flat-nosed slave from Abyssinia, listen and obey him as long as he adheres to all the teachings of the Book of Allah (the Quran)."

Those are parts of the guidance delivered by Rasulullah SAW during the Farewell Sermon, which we should ponder and reflect upon. Muslims should have the awareness and appreciation of, while also practicing, all the guidelines left by Rasulullah SAW.

The month of Rabiulawal and Maulidurrasul should raise our appreciation and reflection towards the holistic implementation of Islamic law as a whole. Do not observe Maulidurrasul as a mere reason to celebrate and hold processions. Instead, let us work together to create a community which makes Islam as a way of life, as well as to continue upholding the dignity and sovereignty of Islam. O, Allah! Make our requests easy .. O, Allah!

The takeaway of the sermon today includes the following:

First: Rabiulawal is an eagerly anticipated month by those who truly and sincerely believe and have faith in Allah SWT and His Messenger. It is a time to appreciate the personality of Rasulullah SAW in every aspect of life because he was a prophet, a head of state, head of his family, a teacher, a friend, a husband, a father, a grandfather and many more.

Second: The final reminder and guidance of Rasulullah SAW was delivered during the Farewell Sermon, which prompts us to hold fast to the Al-Qur'an and Sunnah, to obey and to be loyal to leaders, giving them the rights to be accounted for and to maintain social and national harmony.

Third: The solution for many problems faced today is to return to the guidance of the Al-Qur'an and Sunnah, namely by learning, understanding and practicing the teachings.

Allah SWT declared in Surah al-Tawbah, verses 128 to 129:Which means: “Now has come unto you a Messenger from amongst yourselves: it grieves him that you should perish: ardently anxious is he over you: to the Believers is he most kind and merciful. But if they turn away, Say: "Allah sufficed me: there is no god but He: On Him is my trust - He the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme!"
